Chelsea 2-0 Stoke City: Lampard And Terry Send The Blues To Wembley

Chelsea saw off Stoke today to record their place in the FA Cup Semi Finals.

Stoke looked to threaten the timid and tiny ‘keeper Hilario – who is replacing Cech – with their long throws and aerial ability, but Chelsea adopted a “pack the box” defense to stop this tactic from paying off.

After some decent pressure on the half hour mark Chelsea opened the scoring with a cracking shot from the edge of the box. They continued to press, with the second goal looking inevitable, and with just over twenty minutes to play it was headline grabbing John Terry whose powered header shook the Stoke net for Chelsea’s second.

Sorenson was kept busy for Stoke as Chelsea peppered his goal but early on Stoke could have been the ones to open the scoring when Whiteheads shot was cleared off the line from Mikel in a move that would have certainly seen a different outcome.
