Coloccini, the Argentine with the perm helped the Magpies to a 2-1 win over Watford as they extended their lead at the top of the Championship today. Andy Carroll also nodded himself onto the scoresheet in a win which helped the Geordies shift away from Nottingham Forest who were stuffed 3-0 away to Leicester.
West Brom kept themselves in the race for automatic promotion when they came from 0-1 down to beat Derby 3-1 at The Hawthorns, whilst Swansea held onto fourth after a close 1-0 victory over Peterborough. Cardiff are also up in the playoff zone, but like Nottingham Forest they were thumped 3-0 away, with Preston turning them over.
Down at the bottom Reading stuffed Sheffield Wednesday 5-0, Rasiak and Kebe both grabbed doubles with Church also getting on the scoresheet, whilst Crystal Palace took a point from Doncaster to move out of the relegation zone.
Queens Park Rangers slumped down in the league when they lost 2-0 to Middlesbrough and Scunthorpe joined them with a 2-1 defeat at Coventry.
