Americans need to know the real reason for the government shutdown. It is pure politics at its worst. The Democrats are attempting to build a new base by patronizing non-Americans and they want them to be new citizens.
Republicans are moving legislation that would continue funding the government, although there was no reason for the shutdown to begin with. Democrats are opposing it because it doesn’t legalize “dreamers” brought illegally to the United States as children.
In other words, the military is held hostage because the Democrats are more interested in non-citizens than the national security of our country. They want to use the “dreamers” to portray themselves as compassionate and tolerant with your tax dollars whether you are a Democrat, Republican or Martian.
People of this country should remember that during the 2013 and 1995-96 shutdowns, Republicans were blamed for grinding the government to a halt. This time it is crystal clear that the Democrats orchestrated this for purely political reasons.
In 2013, Chuch Schumer said “I believe in immigration reform. What if I persuaded my caucus to say, ‘I’m going to shut the government down, I am going to not pay our bills unless I get my way?’ It’s a politics of idiocy, of confrontation, of paralysis.”
In 2013, Republicans were at fault. Now in 2018, Schumer owns this this idiotic confrontation.
Republicans are ready to end this sham, but it was calculated to happen on a weekend with the least damage possible. Look for it to end quickly and the Democrats will attempt to make political hay of it with their patronizing mainstream media.
The “dreamer” issue is not set to expire until March. It can be negotiated. Republicans even allotted money to the Children’s Health Insurance Program, something they thought Democrats would like.
Naturally Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi proclaim that Republicans hate children. It is the broken record of one side being good and the other bad.
Does anyone really buy this?
Note that Democrats and most of the media are framing this as a “can Republicans govern?” issue. Were this the Obama era with Republicans causing the problem, the media would be wild with allegations. But they only speak of the GOP “disrupting” the government.
We are being held hostage by the ever-political left. It is all about getting the votes of illegal immigrants the Democrats eagerly want to be citizens. The Democrats are forcing Republicans to delay devising a spending bill that will increase funding for our military, which desperately needs it to defend us after having its budget gutted during the Obama years.
You won’t read that in The New York Times or hear it on MSNBC. That is because it is not about straight news anymore. It is about socialist ideology and if you do not agree, you are not “inclusive.”
