Norwegian Lawmakers Nominate Trump for Nobel Peace Prize

The moment that Democrats have dreaded has arrived. The moment they knew their sleep will be interrupted by a repetitive nightmare where they would wake up screaming. It is here.

President Donald J Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Norwegian lawmakers. After his historic summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, the president’s chances of a Nobel Prize have skyrocketed. And unlike his predecessor, it will have been deserved.

The Daily Caller reported it is almost a certainty Trump will win the prize no later than 2019. The fact is, love him or loathe him, this man deserves the accolade.

The Nobel committee is appointed by the Norwegian parliament and their decisions are independent. The nomination of Trump derived from two conservative members of Norway’s Progress Party. Not remarkably, they advocate lower taxes and limited immigration.

Nobel Peace Prize.

Progress Party member Willy Amundsen said, “What’s going on now is historic. A process is underway to ensure world peace in the future. It’s a fragile process, but we must, of course, do what we can to help this process bring good results.”

Such a move will send millions of liberals to scalp specialists after tearing their hair out. It was one thing for their idol, Barack Obama, to inexplicably have gotten a Nobel Prize for doing absolutely nothing early in his first term, but Donald Trump?

At this stage, President Trump’s negotiations with Kim Jong-un and North Korea appear to be working. Trump may find the biggest problem achieving the prize with politically-oriented members of the Nobel Committee.

Case in point is Nobel committee member Thorbjoern Jagland. In 2015 he tweeted, “Donald Trump you may have set the news agenda but at what cost? Divisive and irresponsible from a presidential hopeful.”

Jagland has been quick to praise Obama. That went along with his negative comments on Trump’s attitude towards Muslims during the 2016 presidential campaign. He was joined by the Nobel Committee vice-chairman who said in 2016, “President-elect Donald Trump has, with his rhetoric, lowered the threshold for moral decency so far it is downright scary.”

Whatever the political temperature of the Nobel committee, it is likely Trump will get the prize. The committee may want to regain credibility after awarding the prize to Obama in 2009 after he did absolutely nothing of any note to earn it.
