A Test for our Resolve: Will Greed Overcome Reason?

There were common patterns in all ancient religions and one of their tasks was reconstructing rituals, ceremonials, and ordinances of the past to bind them together with their pagan rituals, which helped to keep loyalty and dedication to their religious Philosophy.

The word philosophy is derived from philo (love of) and of Sophia (wisdom) which is the second derivative, that combines love and wisdom. Thus, we have the essence of philosophy; it is a way of living, love of God, and the wisdom to give service to others. Socrates believed in one not the idea of multiple gods that the Athenians believed.

Socrates spoke in his own defense at his trial for teaching false doctrine that was corrupting the youth. He was completely aware of the pending consequences if he could not succeed in his own life saving defense …

He continues, “I am not going to argue for my own sake, as you may think, but for yours, that you may not sin against God by condemning me, who is a gift to you. For if you kill me you will not easily find a successor to me, who, if I may use such a ludicrous figure of speech, am a sort of gadfly, given to the state by God; and the state is a great and noble steed who is tardy in his motions owning to his very size, and requires to be stirred up.”

This year, we the people will hear much about government and the various candidates who will run for the office of President. One person who has indicated he might run again is Mitt Romney. In remembering the debates of the 2012 election; I can see much of what Mitt told us and Obama about our government’s foreign polices was indeed correct.

Russia is and will continue to be a threat and problem to freedom in the world. He also stated that withdrawal of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan would lead to civil war in those nations. He had in insight to our nation’s financial problems and presented a common sense approach to combat unemployment and put America back on track … He was a family man and gave our nation a great example of the true definition of family life.

The American people saw him not as a great leader but as a business tycoon. He was very wealthy, and wealth corrupts people because many were born with a silver spoon. He was a nice man but was a Mormon and they are not Christians. The southern states listened to their clergy and either didn’t vote or they voted for a democrat.

I’m not sure how Mitt Romney will fare if he runs again but how will the American people remember? After what will be eight years of Obama, will we remember our needs of three years ago? I know one thing Governor Romney will not apologize or defend himself in the manner of Socrates. I don’t even think he will even think about the failures of Socrates.

One of Socrates’ sayings was this. “He who knows not that he knows not, is a fool, shun him. But he who knows that he knows not, is a wise man, follow him.” The real issue in 2012 was not who would make the best candidate, but American greed, give me something for nothing. Obama won and the people lost. Socrates lost and gave into death because he would not keep quiet about greed, fraud and the stupidity of people in governments and his God given right to live and speak and to educate people in a better way …

This coming election may be the race to save freedom and the rights of Americans

Socrates was put to death for his knowledge that there is a God and telling his students the same … This election is not a life or death election for a political party or an individual person but it might be the trial of freedom. Will freedom live or will it die? If freedom is lost, then tyranny takes over …

This coming election may be the race to save freedom and the rights of Americans.
