FORWARD OPERATING BASE FALCON, Iraq – U.S. Army Sgt. Hy Thai, a cavalry scout and a native of Monterey Park, Calif., along with Sgt. Tim Birk, a cable systems installer from Cold Water, Mich., both assigned to Company B, 1st Special Troops Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, discuss the operations plan before conducting a convoy in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad. Thai and Birk serve in the 1st STB’s Personal Security Detachment, Headquarters and Headquarters Company.
