The event is in its second year and the sponsorship is growing. Two energetic women, Karen Halaszi of Karen Michelle Boutique and Mia Adler Ozair, with a vision and drive have put together the ‘Business and Wellness’ day for women, at the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel, in West Los Angeles.
Mia is a clinically licensed psychotherapist with expertise in the world of education and non-profit organizations (www.miaadlerozair.com); Karen brings the business expertise and drive.
“Why a day for women?” I asked.
Mia: “Because the fashion industry has created an image of a woman that even the model whose look is promoting it struggles to maintain naturally. Most women do not fit this mold and thus do not feel good about themselves. We created this event in an effort to merge the fashion industry with women’s wellness and positive body image so that every woman can love and accept her body as is. We want to empower women to feel good about themselves no matter how they think they seem to look, no matter what society dictates them to be and how to look and in this way they are happier and create happiness and a positive environment around them.”
The event’s date is Sunday, November 2nd, 2014, from 10:30am-to-3:30pm. It will be a day to let your hair down.
How?

Mia: “The vendors and models are assigned to promote a message of beauty through health and wellness and to demonstrate that women are wonderful in every shape, size, color, and age.”

“What was the reaction to the event you received last year?” I asked.
Keren: “A young girl told me last year that she left the event with a sense of hope. That is what we want women to have, hope, feel empowered, be able to explore, be inspired and to pamper themselves.”
In times when women are not yet sure of their equal place in society it is apropos to get together. And together they have more say, can claim more rights, and be acknowledged.
I suggest you turn off your computer for the day and join a well worth event, meet other women, learn to love yourself more and have fun.
I will be there and you should be there too.
