Child Starvation Takes Over 30 Thousand Lives a Day

Hundreds of millions of kids starving, sick, dying, unloved and uncared for all over the word. The world refuses to see the 143 million orphaned children. A staggering 11 million who will starve to death or die from preventable diseases. Another 8.5 million child slaves, prostitutes or under other horrible conditions. Let’s not ignore the 2.3 million who live with HIV. Totally 164.8 million needy children in our world.

When I looked deeper I found 2.1 billion people who claim to be Christians. The truth is if only 8% of the Christians would care for one more child, there would not be any statistics left.

This is the truth and we have the freedom to believe or ignore it. Many of us are victims to our own way of thinking, we hopelessly think someone else is going to take care of it. We make inhumane and immoral statements such as, “If people cannot take care of their own children they shouldn’t have them.” Or let the rich do it.

Helen Keller said, “I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot so everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do.”

Children’s Author Stephanie Farley, her husband Patrick and their two children are giving a gift of life this year. They are raising awareness to adopt a homeless child from Ethiopia.

Please visit Stephanie’s Blog and simply offer encouraging comments or support.

I realize many of you may not have the financial means to support another child, so do a small part and encourage them to do the right thing. Please, we can’t go to bed at night with a full stomach knowing somehow we could have made a difference.
