Sen. Mary Landrieu Avoiding President Obama Visits Like The Plague

“Hope and Change” we were promised, hundreds of times. The chant “Hope and Change” was everywhere, on the lips of millions, it was on bumper stickers, and on posters in the streets. Now back to reality, and in the Bayou State, “Hope and change” has turned to “Hide and seek.”

Louisiana native, Democratic strategist James Carville is back in the news. His advice to Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu, is up for reelection in the midterms. Carville advised her not to take President Barack Obama with her as she campaigns for her fourth term.

The AP-GfK Poll showed that Barack Obama is persona non grata in Louisiana..

Carville must have seen the shocking numbers that show 59 percent of Americans disapprove of Obama’s handling of his job. That is a record high for the AP-GfK poll.

James Carville, the “Ragin Cajun,” has been doing the rounds, warning Southern Democratic candidates, especially those in red states, to avoid Obama like the plague.

Landrieu’s curse is her 2010 vote for the Affordable Care Act, which she did not read, did not understand, and backed until it became obvious that is was a complete disaster. Landrieu was one of a small number of Democrats considering a no vote against the Affordable Healthcare Act. That was before Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bribed her with federal government goodies to change her mind. It worked, and she voted “yes.”

Landrieu wasn’t the only one coerced to vote for ObamaCare.

Those “goodie deals” now known as the “Louisiana Purchase” in Landrieu’s case, and “the Cornhusker Kickback” in the case of Nebraska Democrat, Senator Ben Nelson, enabled the Obamacare bill to squeak by without a single Republican supporting it.

Landrieu and Nelson sold out their considered view, because they had not read the bill, for a few goodies, that were not worth the headaches ObamaCare has caused.

Since the unpopular law’s inept rollout in October 2013, there have been a now record 38 changes in the law’s language, that Mr Obama and Senate Democrats have arranged.

It appears that Landrieu has taken Carville’s advice, because last week, the Obama administration’s Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius was in New Orleans to rally voters around the benefits of Obamacare. Senator Landrieu was nowhere to be seen. She was two hundred miles away in Lake Charles.

Landrieu’s brother, Mitch, the current mayor of New Orleans, will be hoping the family name isn’t sullied, because he is planning to stand for Governor in 2015.

It seems that Senator Landrieu will be checking the travel plans of Mr. Obama and his administration chiefs from now until November, so she can be as far away from them as possible, as she tries to retain her seat, given her poor and disastrous decision four years ago.
