After the seven-party-alliance and the Maoists announced the “New Delhi declaration” against the King and democracy, people are talking much about the Indian game-plan rather than the “historic agreement/ understanding” between the two hostile groups. Specially, they are surprised by the pact between the anti-democratic force of Maoists, and the “democratic group” of the seven-party-alliance. How the Maoists, declared as terrorists by India, was able to roam around New Delhi escaping the Indian security force, it is hard to comprehend!
Is the Indian security so weak that terrorists can freely move around any part of India? No, that is not true! The Maoist leaders were in New Delhi under the Indian security protection. The seven-party-alliance and Maoists “round table meet” was held at the Kanchanjanga Bhawan in Barakhamba Road, New Delhi, under the Indian initiative. Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh had revealed at the Dhaka SAARC Summit that India had zero-tolerance on terrorism, but within a week, in front of Singh, the talks between the two forces were held in New Delhi.
It is interesting that the two sides had urged that the nation’s army should be kept under the UN supervision and holding a constituent assembly poll – both are of the concern of India. And Indians are doing their business by using our leaders who wish to be a new incarnation of Lendup Dorje of Sikkim.
Indian Concern
India is the country which has not accepted in holding a referendum to resolve the Kashmir issue, but it had put pressure on Sikkim to hold a referendum in Sikkim for democracy. During that time, there was no question of Sikkim, a sovereign country, being annexed by India. But that referendum resulted in the disappearance of a sovereign country from the global map. In search of democracy, the people of Sikkim had to lose their sovereign country.
The current constituent assembly poll is also the same style Indian strategy and clearly, the Maoists and the seven-party-alliance, being mobilized through Indian instruction is working in fulfilling the Indian interests.
Prem Kaidi Said It
Remarkably, Prem Kaidi, a noted journalist and an independent Left activist, at a function Saturday, observed that to go for a constituent assembly is suicidal for Nepal. “The King is the symbol of unity and if this institution is abolished, the country will fall into a crisis of disunity,” he remarked. According to Kaidi, small Muslim countries, Haidarabad, among others disappeared from the world map. Likewise, Buddhist country Sikkim also disappeared. Indian elements are active for making Nepal a secular country because millions of Hindus in India oppose annexing Nepal, a Hindu Kingdom, into India, Kaidi explained. “I supported those political leaders throughout my life, but I have just understood the real intention of those leaders, who want to serve the Indian interests,” he revealed and regretted for his past worthless contribution.
Parties Under Maoist Command
The political parties having belief on the multiparty democracy, after they developed “understanding” with the Maoists, are expressing their happiness on this “historic achievement”. Whatever they are saying in public, internally, they have been demoralized from the Maoists’ attitude. Until now, the Maoists have not spoken about surrendering their arms, instead, they are recruiting additional 10 thousand militia; they also have not stopped abduction of innocent people and launching blockades in different areas. The parties are allowed to enter villages under the supervision of the Maoist commanders holding arms. In such a situation, they will be practicing “guided democracy” of the Maoists.
Meanwhile, the underground insurgent leader Prachanda spoke to the BBC last Sunday. He agreed that the meeting was held in New Delhi and the point of agreement with the Palace could be the constituent assembly. Unless the Palace will accept the agenda of constituent assembly, there will be no place for the palace, he said. Unless the demand of constituent assembly is fulfilled, Maoists are not going to lay-down arms, Prachanda said. If that is so, how will the seven-party-alliance walk together with the Maoists, it is yet to be seen.
