NBC Terminates Trump for Comments on Illegal Aliens, Sharpton Gets Free Pass

It seems that political correctness and playing to your base – even when your base is illegal immigrants, beats out telling the truth.

NBC fired Donald Trump last week, because he told the truth about illegals, yet they appear quite happy to retain the loony Al Sharpton.

Sharpton is so far off the planet that me makes the Donald appear mellow.

This just has to be one of the most startling politically correct decisions any major television network has ever made.

So-called “Reverend” Al Sharpton, as an MSNBC host, has made more offensive statements than Trump ever has, Kayleigh McEnany, editor of Political Prospect, told CNN Wednesday.

Here is what Donald Trump said in his presidential campaign announcement on June 16:

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

Trump could have been slightly more gentle by rephrasing that, but essentially, it was the truth.

He certainly didn’t say anything more alarming than what passed for commentary by Sharpton on-air, and it wasn’t anywhere near as bad as many of Sharpton’s past false remarks away from the MSNBC studios. For an example of that, just think back to the events in Ferguson, MO and the ensuing riots.

Donald is really getting battered from multiple sides now. Last week, Univision announced it would dump Trump’s Miss Universe pageant. NBC followed by cutting all ties with Trump, including his Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants and dumping him as host of “The Apprentice.”

Yet the reverend keeps his job as a bombastic and highly controversial host of a regular “news” and commentary show at NBC’s sister network.

Kayleigh McEnany, speaking on “CNN Tonight,” wasn’t on Trump’s side at all, but she not only dumped on him, but Sharpton too. As well as agreeing with Trump’s critics, and saying that he is more of a sideshow than a serious candidate, she said his words on immigration were “unartful and inappropriate.” Not only that, but he made the mistake of crossing the line into the serious issue of immigration.

Duh! The truth often hurts!

And what about Sharpton who can’t even get his facts straight? Could it be because he is untouchable because he is a democrat, or even because he is black? If NBC is in the business of being fair-minded, why hasn’t Sharpton been booted out before now? It has to be that Sharpton has some magical shield around him, otherwise the fake “news network” would have dropped him a long time ago.

McEnany was not finished with Sharpton, giving NBC a serve. She said, “We hear equally hateful statements come from another NBC host, Al Sharpton, who has called Jews white interlopers, who has said that Jews should pin back their yarmulkes. If NBC wants to be consistent, I’m with you. Let’s not let anyone say anything derogatory, but let’s be consistent.”

Hey NBC – if you were just being politically correct, you would be consistent, but now we know that’s not what Trump’s sacking was about.
