In Faith Hedgepeth Murder Case, Did ‘Friends’ Meet Medics at Hawthorne On View?

With virtually no information whatsoever coming out on UNC student Faith Hedgepeth’s murder, one is forced to read between the lines. We have to test the tea leaves of random, scarce evidence, while knowing that the Chapel Hill Police Department has good reason for withholding important clues. I believe the nature of these exclusions has to do with some initial witness(es) [or possibly suspect(s)] who were first encountered by emergency workers at the Hawthorne at the View Apartments.

As a reminder, this occurred just after 11 AM on Friday, September 7th; the Hawthorne Complex address is 5639 Old Chapel Hill Road. An ABC affiliate news crew, when making the scene on that dramatic day, mentions the Hawthorne is just 3 miles north of the UNC campus. The Duke Chronicle reports, not that many students live at the Hawthorne at the View and that not that many residents have concerns about their safety. Still one wonders why a little?

The only bit we are given by CHPD is that Faith Hedgepeth knew her assailant. This is quite a big bit, really! But why have they given a green light for everyone and anyone’s safety, with a killer walking free in their path? This leads me to believe, detectives are conducting a 24/7 surveillance of their primary suspect, who wouldn’t be capable of doing anything bad without their knowing it (since they have him/her in their constant ken).

Another item that needs sifting and (penetrating examination) is the conundrum that initial reports claim it was FRIENDS who found her dead, as in plural. Who are these ‘friends’? Do they live at the Hawthorne? Is one of them Faith’s roommate, whose name has been withheld heretofore? Takoy Jones, who was interviewed by an ABC local station (UNC student found dead in apartment, posted Sunday, 9/9/2012), was an ex-boyfriend to this mysterious roommate of Faith’s.

So, how could more than one person have found her? Either this initial report is wrong, or else something fishy is going on, in the sense of what exactly transpired from the time of the 911 call, to the time the emergency medics arrive on the scene. They found Faith in her bedroom and we hear they saw blood. Then there’s this grey area that ‘it was believed that someone had been in the apartment.’ What does that mean? Didn’t the 911 caller meet them there at her apartment? This is most unclear!

Was the 911 caller one of these so called friends? Or to put it in a contrarian context, was the caller actually her killer? I’m beginning to believe this! Did this person flee the scene just before medics arrive, then faked a blending in with the crowd, as if he or she had just discovered something bad was going down at the Hawthorne, and they were just observing it after the fact, such as everybody else on the scene.

This would help to explain why the CHPD don’t want to divulge too many details about the crime scene inside Faith’s apartment, with the idea that when this person was originally interviewed (if only casually on the street, the morning of Sept. 7th), they may have extended available knowledge moving out from the street, 9which is) beyond their conceivable ken, unless they had inside information, since they were the one who did it. (a Columbo moment!)

This is a very unusual case, highly mysterious! Faith Hedgepeth is loved a great deal by family and friends, and now the public is seeing what good person she is (was). And this is a high profile case also. With people all across the country taking an interest in her case, CHPD is feeling the heat, as they play a cat and mouse game with her killer, which is played out in the eye of a hurricane (the multiple forms of media). CHPD knows who did it, but now they got to prove it! Here goes the testy part.
