How Do I Loathe Thee? Let Me Count The Ways.

By Chic Hollis – Philosophical Musings

Thou art a rich candidate like Arnold, Meg, with no political experience. Thou hast rarely voted in an election and hast never sought an elected office. Thou hast employed an illegal alien for thy household staff and hast fired her for undisclosed political reasons. Thou hast no detailed plan to bring jobs to California. Thou hast no specific proposal to solve the fiscal crisis in this state. Thou hast not declared how thou wouldst break the stranglehold of the spendthrift Democrats on the legislature in Sacramento.

What is least attractive about thy campaign is thy egotistical belief that thou personally can fix the broken bureaucracy that runs this state, defeat the public unions, remedy the overcrowded prisons with their failed healthcare system, improve the kindergarten to grad school system, and bring back prosperity to California without raising taxes and many of the hidden fees.

These out-of-control activities need new mission statements, new pro-active administrations with sound ideas for making many radical changes, and enough money and time to effect visible improvements. Hast thou such initiative to bring about the many necessary changes without a legislature solidly behind thee to support thy programs?

I am tempted not to vote for thee, but the has-been governor who is thy most serious adversary is worse, and the other independent candidates lack supporters, money, and glitter.

It’s a tough decision for me to walk across the street to the polling place in the local elementary school and vote in November.
