Dr. Ben Carson tells it like it is to Republicans and all Americans

Not all of the possible 2016 presidential candidates are well known in politics. One Republican presidential hopeful is being called “the dark horse” in the field. Dr. Ben Carson, 62, a black neurosurgeon, is a well-spoken man with a relatively new following in conservative circles.

Since retiring as a neurosurgeon, he has become a columnist. Credited with being the first surgeon to successfully separate conjoined twins joined at the head, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President George W. Bush. He delivered a speech at the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast, and has conservative views on social issues and the federal government.

He described America today as tantamount to Nazi Germany. “A society where people are afraid to say what they actually believe,” according to Breitbart.

Dr. Carson, was one of many conservatives targeted by the IRS for an exhaustive audit. He said, “the government using its tools to intimidate the population.” Dr. Carson says that was not a one-time thing that has now stopped, it is expanding by the year.

At a New York City meeting of elected officials, journalists, business leaders and conservative authors, he spoke to a standing-room-only crowd.

A conservative Republican, he has no time for the “political correctness” that pervades politics these days, and he was very candid about what he perceives as “living in a Gestapo age.” CNN reported that Dr. Carson’s status in the GOP is skyrocketing, since he publicly criticized President Obama’s policies in front of the president at last year’s National Prayer Breakfast.

Dr. Carson, definitely not a shrinking violet, said he is certain that speech led to his IRS audit just months later.

He went on to say that fear of retribution for speaking out is harming the country.

Politicians and the media are the politically correct police

Dr. Carson spoke out against political correctness and scare tactics as a means to shut up your opponents. He asid, “The reason that is so horrible is because the only way you have harmony and reach consensus is by talking. But if, in fact, people are afraid to talk, you never reach consensus. And instead you grow further and further apart. And that’s exactly what’s happening; creating a horrible schism that will destroy our nation.”

Some in the GOP see him as vice presidential material for 2016.
