Democrats, Out of Ideas on Tea Parties, Play Race Card

Having tried name calling, character assassination and public denunciation against the “Tea Party” movement, Democrats appear to be resorting to the race card.

Even former President Carter is in on the act, doing exactly what he accuses the Tea Party groups of doing, wrapping them all up into one ball and throwing them against the wall.

In racism, the logic goes, if one black person is bad, mean, stupid, a drug addict, immoral etc, then all backs are. The same goes for all Russians, all Asians, all white people, all women, all men or smaller groups, such as all white men, all black women, all hunters, all soccer players, all republicans.

We know, of course that none of this is true because people are individual and capable of making their own choices.

Deneen Borelli of the national black leadership network Project 21 said today

“There they go again. Now Jimmy Carter has joined House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel, Texas Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson, New York Governor David Paterson, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, the New York Times’ Maureen Dowd and others on the left in claiming racism is behind criticism of President Obama’s big-spending policies.”

Apparently, the allegation of racism is the ultimate way to silence critics. Or at least it used to be. It seems that the little boys have cried “wolf” once too many and the tactic is rapidly losing its power. This is a bad thing, because real racism may get a free pass.

It is very strange that a party that calls itself “progressive” tries to destroy its enemies by dusting off the discredited and overused claim of racism, to keep them silent. That seems a lot more like backwardness, than progressive. Luckily, not all democrats, not all progressives are like that.

Apparently former President Carter, Maureen Dowd and TV comedian Chris Matthews think freedom of speech is only to be used by a select group, and only to advance their agenda.

It is a sad state of affairs when so called “intellectuals” dump all of their intellect into a barrow with “RACISM” painted on the side.
