How long will Americans close their eyes to the Democratic Party’s lies and innuendo concerning women?
The National Organization of Women (NOW) has a blindness that is glaringly apparent this political season. They rail about “The War on Women” in this country, supposedly to help Democrat politicians running for office. They have nothing else to peddle while they could be focusing on the real war on women in Afghanistan; not to mention the entire Middle East and the Muslim world.
American troops are withdrawing from Afghanistan, being reduced to a token force. It spells doom for half of Afghanistan’s population; the women. A recent ActionAid poll found that of the 1000 Afghan women surveyed said, “A massive 86 percent (women) are worried about a return to a Taliban-style government, with one in five citing their daughter’s education as the main concern. And with good reason.”
What will stop the Taliban now that the Americans are dramatically scaling down their presence? While the left in this country spews the need to retreat from Afghanistan, they show little concern for the millions of women who will suffer indescribable hardships under the presumed Taliban leadership once the U.S. military leaves. Where are the “progressive” women of NOW?
The Afghan government’s embrace of women’s rights over the past decade has been nothing more than a cynical deception perpetrated to appease the Americans. Now with most of America’s forces gone or scheduling departure dates publicly, the women are literally naked under the sun.
Young girls are self-immolating to escape forced marriages to octogenarian men. Families in disputes are still giving their daughters away to settle the problem. Women who are raped are still jailed with the rapist because they are assumed to have tempted him. Women are being killed to settle grievances between two men.
In one recent incident, a man beat and tortured his wife with electric shock because she refused to enter prostitution to provide him more income. Where is “progressive” NOW? Can it be they are a tool of the Democratic Party, much like the labor unions? What is the “war” they speak of here in America?
Afghan women suddenly invigorated by new freedoms, due to the American soldier’s footprint, are seeking new freedoms, fresh ideas, and a place in this twelfth century country. Unlike Hillary Clinton, the recent “champion of women,” Afghan women are forbidden to wear make-up on television. What would that do to Hillary’s campaign if Americans saw what she really looks like in her late sixties?
How can the Democrats look themselves in the mirror with the trumped-up “War on Women” idiocy? The real suffering and real hardship, including rape and murder, permeates Third World countries to the extreme. Sandra Fluke, the spoiled little law student turned activist attorney espoused the “torture” she faced without government-funded birth control. Shouldn’t she volunteer to aid Afghan women in their time of peril rather than the current message she sends out? Her “progressive” tune would change quickly, or she too would be raped and killed.
There may be a very good reason liberals now tout themselves as “progressives.” The former didn’t get the uninformed voters they seek, thus the later, “progressives,” were invented.
How many low information voters are buying this Madison Avenue tactic?
