Rush To Judgment

Rush Limbaugh is still at the top in a field of dying talk radio genre. A spot he has held for ten consecutive years. Limbaugh still remains toxic to advertisers though, due to his ratings drop, Radio Stations no longer want to carry his broadcast show.

Numerous stations and advertisers large and small have dropped his show in the past year or two, most over his viciously sexist rant against Sandra Fluke during 2012, but also because he’s just not pulling in new, younger demographics. Remaining a money loser due to the lack of advertising revenue.

His audience may have diminished but it is estimated that he still draws 13.25 million listeners per week. Recent blasts from the sound booth include “Trump Is an Internet Troll,” as well as “Civil rights … you could legalize rape if you called it the Civil Rights Act of 2016.”

Limbaugh has seen his show decline and faces a major pay cut as his employer is also facing bankruptcy. He last signed an eight year deal in 2008 worth $400 million. Rush Limbaugh’s contract with iHeartRadio (formerly Clear Channel) is nearing renewal leaving the behemoth of the modern day conservative movement inline for a possible early retirement.
