YouTube New Testing Ground for Hollywood TV Sitcoms

The Hicks – a new situation comedy pilot

You Tube comes of age. Veteran independent TV show producers now create pilots and test using the You Tube audience to evaluate winners for possible shows.

A case in point is The Hicks.

This 11 minute pilot looks inside the southern born and bred household of Vern, Violet, and their young and beautiful daughter Lola Hick (played by Crystal Hunt) before and during the time they are uprooted and forced to relocate to New York City to support Lola’s developing television career…

Starring Crystal Hunt, Tom Pelphrey, Shuler Hensley, Catherine Hickland, Sonya Eddy, David Naughton, Kim Chesser and Two-Foot Fred.

It’s a modern day Beverly Hillbilly’s adventure filled with campy romance, growing pains humor, and North vs. South cultural cliches. This very funny video short showcases the talents of a wonderful cast of Hollywood veterans.
