The 4th of July weekend has been a favorite American holiday for as long as I can remember. We pack up the car and drive to somewhere else, to see relatives or have fun in the sun.
Here in Colorado, the westbound I-70 allows tens of thousands of people to speed out of Denver, towards the mountains, for three days of relaxation. There are three lanes in each direction – car heaven, city dwellers heading for freedom.
Unfortunately, there was a problem. 20 miles into the mountains, those three lanes narrow to two. By noon, the traffic came to an abrupt halt, due to the sheer number of people driving to the refuge of the High Country.
Denver wasn’t the only city to suffer this problem. The same scene was repeated in Chicago, New York City, Baltimore, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, Cincinnati and San Francisco, and in dozens of other mega cities across the country.
What was supposed to be a relaxing short vacation turned into a massive gridlocked traffic jam, and all over the USA, there were overcrowded beaches, overwhelmed vacation spots and overbooked campgrounds.
Trafficjam On The I-70
The I-70 passes our house, and we saw drivers suffering stop and go traffic at 3 to 5 miles per hour, on a journey of 100 miles from Denver to their destinations in Vail, Breckenridge and Grand Lake. This nightmare lasted for 8 or 9 hours. We saw people exhibiting short tempers and flipping the bird. We saw angry drivers – some very angry – and we saw people just feeling helpless.
Anytime a trafficjam happens, you know there will be accidents, people getting impatient, not paying attention. Those accidents just make things worse. Rubberneckers compound the problem, because not only do they drive slow, so they can gawk, but they also crash into other cars.
This is the nightmare of too many people, too little roadway, nobody paying attention, our federal government unthinking, uncaring, and therefore no solution in sight. Many people think the solution is more traffic lanes, but the Department of Transportation isn’t the miracle department. The mountain passes and the limited terrain won’t allow it.
My wife and I took the opportunity to head over to Exit 254 with our signs, asking people to join www.NumbersUSA.org. Those who do, can empower themselves to help put an end to the reason we have 10 hour traffic jams over 100 miles. Another good site we featured, that helps citizens empower themselves, is www.CapsWeb.org.
Did our natural birthrate create this gridlock? No. Is it just that more Americans are moving to the cities? No. Is it that more people decided to go on vacation this year? Yes, of course, but there is a reason there are so many people, that causes these 100 mile traffic jams in Colorado and the other states. That reason is the relentless, massive and inexorable population growth created by legal and illegal immigration bombarding America. It is organized, encouraged and generated by none other than our Congress, our president and our Federal government.
Americans Cowed By Tyranny?
Americans used to stand up to be heard. They used to stand up against tyranny, but things have changed. Many have been cowed into acceptance or submission, not daring to say a word for fear of verbal and social reprisals. Mention immigration, and the left-leaning mainstream media brands you with various names, designed to embarrass you into silence. The oddly named progressives on twitter will hound you mercilessly and say bad things about you.
Media outlets, that used to tell it how it is, do not dare even broach some subjects, and immigration is one of those. Who of the following dares to mention what we face as a civilization if we don’t stop this incessant over-immigration and overpopulation? Not Megyn Kelly, Wolf Blitzer, Brit Hume, George Will, Kathleen Parker, Thomas Friedman, Scott Pelley, Brian Williams, David Muir or Diane Sawyer. PBS and NPR are afraid of the subject. When have you heard a report from our champion investigators, Charlie Rose, 60 Minutes, Lianne Hanson, Terry Gross, Steve Inskeep or Robert Siegal? Not lately, because any mention of our predicament is being suppressed.
Within the next 30 years or less, another 100 million immigrants will flood into this country, and your children will suffer from your inaction and the inaction of this congress, this president’s administration and the next five presidents and five congresses.
Do you understand that adding another 100 million immigrants means doubling the size of Denver, Chicago, New York and 20 other major cities, plus, many of our relatively quiet, smaller cities too. One hundred mile long traffic jams may not be seen only on the 4th of July, they will become normal.
Think about that for a minute!
If you read the news of other countries, you would know that Beijing, in China and San Paulo, in Brazil already suffer from 200-mile jams regularly. The quality of life in those places has degraded beyond anything you can imagine in the USA, but they too, are growing, growing and growing, without pause.
As my wife and I stood on the overhead bridge to watch the faces of all those people stuck in gridlock, thousands of them snapped our pictures onto Facebook, Twitter and Google. They cheered us, especially the truckers who face gridlocked traffic as a daily nightmare.
Thanks to the inaction of our elected representatives, and the government policies that have all but laid out the red carpet for legal and illegal immigrants, tens of thousands of desperate migrants are illegally flooding our borders, as you read this. It is happening in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
After the first 50,000 succeed, you can expect another 50,000 to follow in their footsteps, and another 50,000 behind them, ad infinitum, probably past the point of oversaturation, because the myth of the land of the free is much better than where they are, even as reality changes for the worse.
The USA already accepts 100,000 legal immigrants every 30 days now, thanks again to our elected representatives, who are not representing us.
How long do you think our country, our society, or our civilization can sustain an incoming flood of illiterate humans looking for a better life?
California already suffers from severe drought, but we are told they expect an additional 20 million people within 30 years. Only 2% of that increase will be from the birthrate exceeding the deaths. 98 percent of the increase will come from immigration. What do you think that will do to the drought, the pressure on limited water reserves, the land that sustains us and the once-pristine wilderness?
If you care about any of this, care about your children, your neighbors or your country, surely you must be wondering what your elected representatives are doing and why they are doing it. Are you wondering how long the president and Congress can fail to enforce the laws that you are expected to observe, that maintain the integrity of our sovereign nation?
Do you know that we are supporting 400,000 “anchor babies,” that are being born in our country to foreign women who become welfare queens, eating up your tax dollars for the next 18 years for each child? Have you thought about how long it will be before your kids and grandkids attend schools with a mix of dozens of languages, radically different cultures, with free breakfasts and lunches for the poor?
Have you thought about what will happen when we continue to allow people to cross our borders unchecked, bringing with them diseases such as TB, scabies, head lice, tapeworms, Chagas, polio and worse?
You probably have not. You should, because it is happening already.

Where Are The Jeffersons, Washingtons, Franklins?
Why aren’t you out there with my wife and me? Why aren’t you protesting the loss of your country?
While driving past my wife on the exit ramp, one woman yelled out, “Strength to your sword arm. It’s going to get worse.”
My wife yelled back, “Not if citizens take action to change the course of history like Thomas Jefferson, Washington, Franklin, Abigail Adams, Susan B. Anthony, Amelia Earhart and every red-blooded American who spoke up for this country.”
