The BP oil company will update reporters, public, Tuesday- today- about stopping its gushing oil. They will use “top kill” to plug-up the Gulf of Mexico spill.
All efforts by BP to curtail the leak failed.
“Top kill” has a 60 to 70 percent chance of working when it’s used- Tony Hayward, BP’s CEO.
“Top kill” worked on oil wells above ground, but it has not been tested 5,000 feet under-water.
Twenty percent of the commercial and recreational fisheries were closed due to the spill.
The Obama administration feels that BP is the party accountable.
“We are on them, watching them,” Janet Napolitano- Homeland Security Secretary.
BP announced if “top kill” doesn’t work, they have other options.
