Assam Students to Visit NASA

Scelcted students of Assam will visit National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) for a 10-day educational tour programme on the month October this year, officials said.

The students who were selected for the tour ranked in top three positions in this year High School Leaving Certificate examination and top position holder of High Madrasa examination conducted by Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA).

“We have introduced a programme for the deserving students of high school level for the memory of late Debo Kumar Bora from this year,” Assam Education Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

The students and a government official reportedly will fly from Bangalore to Washington on October 21.

During the study tour, students will participate in a space camp which has been sponsored by Federal state of Alabama.

“The students will be trained in the camp like an astronaut,” the Assam Minister said.

The team will also visit Kennedy Space Centre in Orlando, Florida.
