Andrew Neyman, played by Miles Teller, is an ambitious 19 year-old. He was greeted with bitter surprise when he entered the hallowed halls of the mythical Shaffer Conservatory. Not exactly the ideal place to pursue his ambition of becoming a celebrated jazz drummer.
