Si Astbury Competes in Online Singing Competition

For a long time, singing competitions have been a great way to introduce talented singers to a wider audience. The Eurovision Song content is one of the best-known, but now, since the advent of the internet, TV isn’t the only game in town. Since early Jan. 2014, British musician and TV presenter Simon “Si” Astbury has been part of an online competition.

FAMESTAGE.COM

Astbury is currently competing at FameStage.com. The event is called “Music’s Richest Online Competition.” Currently, the top prize is $7,500 in cash, plus a $100,000 recording contract. There is also a chance to feature at their live concert at the Famestage festival.

Famestage bills itself as “Open to the whole world, … truly the biggest stage you’ll ever step on.”

The Famestage platform allows all musicians, from all over the world, to showcase their talents, in competitions with monthly cash prizes. Contestants also showcase and share their music with the world, and receive bookings.

“This is an online music contest that showcases artists by FameStage. I was asked to submit my music video for the competition. I learned about the event from Dean Thomas Barnett.” – Si Astbury
