Metro Times Presents The Adventures of Kwame-Man

Though he has stepped down as the Mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick may have another career as a comic-book character. The newest issue of The Metro Times, which is out now in Michigan, presents the protagonist’s “tragic-comic rise and fall” from grace in the public eye.

“KWAME KILPATRICK SAYS THAT AT A CRITICAL POINT IN HIS LIFE, HE WENT TO HIS BIBLE AND OPENED IT TO THE STORY OF THE YOUTHFUL KING DAVID” the story said.

“IT WAS A SIGN THAT HE WAS DESTINED TO BE MAYOR!

The comic chronicles several of Kwame-Man’s adventures: from his oath “TO UNITE THE REGION WITH HIS YOUTHFUL ENERGY” when running for Mayor in 2001; being elected to office in January of 2002; reports of scandalous behavior coming from the “DEMON MEDIA”; sexually explicit messages between him and former Chief of Staff Christine Beatty published in The Detroit Free Press; committing perjury, and the deal with the prosecution that led Kwame-Man to resign as Mayor of Detroit.

With his reputation tarnished and facing jail time, our hero isn’t down for the count, though — for The Adventures of Kwame-Man may not be over.

“DETROIT … YOU DONE SET ME UP FOR A COMEBACK!” was his final words.

The Adventures of Kwame-Man is available at The Metro Times in your local Michigan stands and stores right now.
