John Stamos Marries Fiancé After Jewelry Robbery

No jewelry thievery was going to stop this wedding ceremony. On Saturday, actor John Stamos said “I do” to his now-wife Caitlin McHugh according to People magazine. The wedding was a cozy affair, as close friends and family watched McHugh, a 31-year model and actress, wearing a white ball gown.

But mere hours before the ceremony, the couple discovered that McHugh’s hotel room had been burglarized when she had left. The Beverley Hills Police Department released a statement on Twitter which stated several items of jewelry valued at a total of approximately $165,000 had been removed from her room. Certain details have not been released as the investigation is ongoing, but apparently the room had not been forced open and there are no suspects at the time.

To make things worse for the married couple, the luxury timepieces and jewelry apparently belonged not to McHugh or Stamos, but to the Neil Lane jewelry collection. They will thus have to pay for the lost goods.

But that will likely only be a minor damper on the happy couple. They first began dating in early 2016. After that, they announced their engagement last October and that McHugh was pregnant with their first child in December. Stamos proposed to her in Disneyland, which was a special place as McHugh is a huge fan. He cut together romantic moments on Disney and Pixar, which ended with the classic clip from The Little Mermaid telling her to “ask the girl.”

Stamos told ET in November that he hoped to have kids and gushed about how much he loved his then-fiancé. The 54-year old Stamos’s parents have already passed away, but he observed that he was sure that they would approve of her. Stamos was previously married to actress Rebecca Romijin from 1998 to 2005.

Stamos is best known for his role as Jesse Katsopolis in the 90s sitcom Full House and is currently an executive producer on the Netflix series Fuller House. Fuller House was renewed for a fourth season last week, though there is no word on when it will be released. McHugh has played roles in the TV series The Vampire Diaries and Rescue Me.
