Jim Meskimen Talks About Hosting Celebrity Centre Event To Support Children

For those that missed it last year, you can start planning early for this year to one of the biggest Christmas parties in Hollywood. Christmas Stories was a two night event of star-studded, live holiday entertainment presented by the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre, International, to raise funds for the Hollywood Police Activities League.

Each year for the last 20 years, the first weekend of December marks the Christmas Stories weekend, with music, comedy, dance and festivities hosted at the Church’s Garden Pavillion on Franklin Street and Bronson in Hollywood.

Jim Meskimen has been the host / MC of the show, which is presented as a 1940’s Hollywood live radio program, since its inception. Last December marked his 20th as MC, and a major milestone for the charity event.

Over the years, celebrities who have participated in the shows have been the top of television, film and stage, including multi-platinum recording artists, Grammy, Emmy and Academy Award winners, all providing entertainment to benefit, through donations to P.A.L., the children of Hollywood who would not otherwise have a Christmas.

Jim Meskimen told The Hollywood Sentinel, “It’s a great way to start off the holiday season. Each year I begin the month with this event, raising money for the children of Hollywood by performing for the community with some of the biggest names in entertainment in a totally entertaining atmosphere. The little kids love it, the families come year after year, and I’m amazed at how it all comes together. It’s just one of those great, selfless movements that has its own momentum and energy. And I don’t know the figure, but we have raised a lot of money, and I’ve been personally told by the Hollywood police that without our little shows, a lot of kids wouldn’t have Christmas at all. So, it’s a great feeling, a great cause, and a couple of great, very unpredictable shows. A labor of holiday love! I look forward to the next twenty!”
