Gigantic British Car Show This Weekend

The relatively small Western Pennsylvania town of Indiana (famous as the birth place of Jimmy Stewart en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Stewart_(actor) and less-famous as the home of Small Town Life Magazine, is once again hosting one of the biggest classic car shows in the world which is limited strictly to British-make automobiles.

This year the event will take over downtown Indiana (home of Indiana University of Pennsylvania) with pith helmets and other clothing items to match the “British Car Safari” theme for this the 2009 Summer Party.

Beginning this Friday, August 7 with a bed sheet drive-in movie, the event will continue with BB gun shooting contests, bonfire (to keep the lions away from camp) and every car type event from showing your prize vehicle to LeMans-start contests, mountain driving tours, drag racing, and autocross.

There is even an English pub- type watering hole known as The Coventry Inn.

No one knows in advance just how big a particular year’s event will be but British car lovers drive in from all over the East coast and even down from Canada so if you attend you can expect to see hundreds of classic vehicles.

See the sponsor’s (The Roadster Factory) site for more information about the event which takes place August 7th and 8th around the area but centered in Indiana.
