Though the 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards is less than 24 hours away, we shouldn’t leave out The Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which aired Saturday night on E! The event takes place a week before the Emmys: honoring those that work behind the scenes on the year’s Emmy-nominated shows.
Not only is John Adams in the lead with the most Primetime nods with 23, but the HBO miniseries swept in the early Emmys with eight wins — the largest of the night. AMC’s acclaimed, watercooler hit Mad Men took home four out of the eleven — including Outstanding Hairstyling for a Single-Camera Series and Outstanding Cinematography.
Sex & The City alum Cynthia Nixon took home an Emmy for her guest-starring role on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, in which she portrayed a woman who seemingly suffers from Multiple Personality Syndrome (for instance, a tough Russian).
Kathryn Joosten of Desperate Housewives beat out 30 Rock‘s Edie Falco, Carrie Fisher, and Elaine Stritch to take home an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy.
The 60th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be broadcast this Sunday night at 8pm on ABC. I can’t wait to see the Emmy results, it’s exciting.
