Students Formed A Walk-Out On Facebook

Thousands of New Jersey students formed a walk-out on Facebook- to protest budget cuts.

They signed up on: Protest NJ Education Cuts, State Wide School Walk Out.

Governor Chris Christie stated that the budget would be cut by $820 million next year.

Michelle Ryan Lauto- 18, college student- arranged the rally. A college student that went to high school in Bergen County. Some students expressed their views.

“What Governor Christie fails to mention is that his own children are safe and sound in private schools where they will have all their funds and needs met,” Dwight Morrow High School student, Amber Diaz declared.

The New Jersey Education Association didn’t approve.

“I think the best outcome would be for the students to be in school and find a way to protest outside of school hours,” a spokesperson for the organization explained.
