Social Network Fans Flock to New Browser

Looking for an alternative to IE, Firefox, or even Google’s Chrome browser?

Perhaps you should be.

Even though most PC users simply put up with the various indignities (such as Trojans, Virus infections, and crashes) inherent with using Microsoft’s default Internet Explorer browser, there are several free and superior alternatives.

Google offers its own browser, Chrome, and Mozilla’s Firefox is a popular alternative to IE, but social network users should consider using the Flock browser for at least some of their surfing.

Flock is a Mozilla-based open source (developers can write add-ins and features for free) which is fast, relatively small, and optimized for those who use social media and social networks.

According to the company site: “Flock was founded on the vision that the web browser can and should enable the richest user experience possible across information-gathering, sharing, communication, self-expression and interaction.

Every individual has their own unique preference for favorite sites, utilities, media and friends. Flock’s philosophy is to deliver a more personal experience of the web, where its users are in control and more connected to what they value. Flock is committed to working with our vibrant community and best of breed partners to allow users to be everywhere they care about, from one single place.”

The Screenshot extension doesn’t use JAVA which is a plus for many users.

Me.dium is an add-in which lets you see what your friends are browsing in real-time and identifies other people who are interested in the same pages you are browsing.

There is also a growing list of Flock toolbars including the TMZ Toolbar.

Flock is available in various languages and is accepted by the EU as an alternative to IE.

Flock includes a blog editor, photo uploader and various social-media related sidebars.

This is a highly-rated free browser which every social media fan should checkout.

You can download Flock for free from flock.com

I have also found that Flock is highly stable on platforms as old as Windows 2000 which is a lot more than you can say about IE or even some versions of Firefox.
