Today Nintendo has released a statement informing the public that the highly anticipated Nintendo 3DS will not be available this holiday season. It will be available in Japan February 26th, and released in the US and Europe markets sometime in March of 2011.
The company had originally planned to release the Nintendo 3DS which is a hand held portable video game system that displays games in 3D without the need of special glasses in time for the 2010 holiday season.
Due to not being able to have the units ready for the holiday season, the company was forced to reduce its annual profit forecast from $2.4 billion to $1 billion. It cited the strong yen and the 3DS launch date as reasons for the revised projection.
