Dennis Gluck, 44, is accused of hacking his parents to death and is ordered to stand trial. Gluck’s parents were found dead in their Carlsbad home.
According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, Harry Gluck, 90, and his wife, Jean, 77, both died of “chop wounds.”
Prosecutors are alleging that Dennis Gluck killed them with a machete. Gluck has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bail.
After the alleged killing of his parents, Dennis Gluck went over the border to Mexico. He had been homeless for some time, so staying under cover wasn’t too difficult for him. It was reported that he slept on buses or stayed in cheap motels.
Mexican police arrested Gluck and handed him over to California police at the San Ysidro crossing.
Neighbors said Dennis Gluck was “unstable.” The judge denied him bail, saying he was dangerous to the community and was a flight risk.
