Titanic Price For Diving Exploration of Famous Wreck
For those who want to have a first-hand exploration of the Titanic wreck site, a London-based travel company Blue Marble Private is offering adventurous and rich tourists willing to pay $105,129 a once-in a life time diving tour at the historic boat’s wreck site.
For excited tourists willing to pay for a pricey tour, it will start soon. The luxury experience company has scheduled the trips for 2019.
So what do thrill-seekers get for the money?
The experience of course is undeniably rare and after the expedition, divers gain a fancy title – the Mission Specialists.
The three-day expedition package covers diving activities that will last for three hours. The clients will be aboard a submersible yacht and will experience an exploration of the 269-meter-long ship.
The rare and expensive diving tour offers clients an amazing display of the more than century-old artifacts across the ocean floor as well.
“It’s a real expedition experience, it’s certainly not a luxury vacation,” says OceanGate’s marketing manager Dana Hall. “All of our Mission Specialists are signing up to get to experience not only seeing the Titanic, but also helping to assist on the support vessel, support with operations – if they’re comfortable – as well as on the submersible itself.”
Reason For Postponement
The opening for the ultimate diving exploration at the Titanic wreck site was set to kick off in May 2018. However, due to unfavorable weather during testing, the diving trips were rescheduled for 2019.
Blue Marble Private is making sure they are not wasting time to finally make the planned voyages to be realized before its too late. A new discovery of “extremophile bacteria” is a threat to this rare diving expedition especially this kind of bacteria could eat away what’s left of the famous shipwreck within 15 or 20 years.
The Famous Luxury Ship
RMS Titanic was a famous luxury vessel that set sail in 1912. Unfortunately, the huge vessel did not reach its destination. The British passenger line sank in the North Atlantic Ocean in the early hours of April 15.
The disaster left 1,500 people dead out of 2,200 passengers. It is considered to be one of the deadliest commercial maritime disasters in modern history.
The wreck lies at a great depth, approximately 2.4 miles (3.75 kilometres, or 12,600 feet) below the surface of the North Atlantic. The ship broke in two as she sank, and the stern and bow of the wreck now lie 1,970 feet apart.
The wreck of the Titanic was discovered 30 years ago. Up to this day, many are still curious about the wreckage and exploration in the wreckage still attracts scientists.
