Mazda Adopts Oracle Solutions for Global Competitiveness

Mazda Motor Corporation, the Japanese automotive maker, has adopted Oracle’s various technologies in order to support its global business by establishing a next-generation information technology (IT) foundation. Mazda will be using Oracle Applications, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Exadata Database Machine.

With Mazda‘s global manufacturing operations across nearly 120 countries and regions, it needed a comprehensive and service-oriented architecture (SOA) to help integrate multiple systems as well as extend data accessibility and standardize critical business processes.

Mazda is transforming the way it is managing its systems infrastructure and it is doing it on a global scale with Oracle. By adopting Oracle, Mazda is expecting to reduce the costs associated with building and maintaining information systems. It is also expecting to reduce the time it needs to implement and improve productivity, enhance performance and spur profits.

After Mazda competitively reviewed the selection process for its IT foundation, it chose Oracle and Oracle Japan solutions including Oracle Applications, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Database 11g and Oracle Exadata Database Machine. The company believes that Oracle will be able to integrate Mazda’s global information systems into a complete structure that can rapidly respond to market and operational changes.

“Global companies, like Mazda, often face challenges with ever-changing needs of the business and a high demand for an advanced technology infrastructure,” says Ed Allen, vice president, automotive, Oracle. “By standardizing on the complete, open and integrated Oracle stack, Mazda will benefit from a tightly integrated, highly accessible and responsive IT infrastructure.”

On Oracle’s part, it will deliver education, consulting and customer services to maximize user experience and value those products.

Oracle provides open and integrated business software and hardware systems.
