Intermedia Offering Hosted Exchange 2013 Beta

Exchange 2013 Beta Program

Intermedia, a cloud services provider for small and medium-sized businesses and a Microsoft Exchange hosting provider has released its hosted Exchange 2013 beta program, according to the company’s press release.

The Exchange 2013 beta version allows you to experience the latest touch interface and roaming capabilities across multiple devices which include smartphones, tablets and desktops, the statement says.

“Our customers and partners demand the most up-to-date cloud services and we remain committed to providing them with cutting-edge technology,” says Michael Gold, president of Intermedia. “Our hosted Exchange 2013 beta opens the opportunity for the public to test this exciting product, explore its new interaction and provide feedback.”

Improved Unified View of Contacts

The Exchange 2013 beta has an improved unified view of contacts regardless of which applications they are stored in – be it Exchange, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. – for fast search. Bing maps and YouTube URLS are also incorporated and the process of composing notes and scheduling meetings was simplified.

Even the Outlook Web App (OWA) was enhanced. An application marketplace was integrated with the OWA interface that enables you to browse, search and download applications. Also, the improved OWA version has an offline mode that allows you to read and respond to messages and manage your calendar and contacts even if you are not online.

“Bring-Your-Own-Device”

Finally, the beta version is also able to erase sensitive corporate email data from mobile devices without wiping the entire device. This is very timely considering the issue of “Bring-Your-Own-Device.”

Intermedia’s Exchange 2013 beta service is delivered from the company’s proprietary cloud infrastructure. It assures high reliability, backup and security, according to the press release.

Intermedia was the first hoster to offer hosted Exchange in 2000, the first to market with Exchange 2003, 2007 and 2010, and the first to offer private label hosted Exchange. It was selected by Microsoft as one of 10 partners to beta test Exchange 2013, its next generation Exchange platform.

intermedia’s Services
