Born in Redwood City California and raised in Los Altos, majoring in Communication with an emphasis in Mass Media (University of San Francisco ’97), Scott knew from a young age he was here to make a major impact on this planet. Mr. Manning has an extensive career in concert production, working with artists Micah and Lukas Nelson (Willie Nelson’s sons), Pat Simmons Jr. (Pat Simmons from Doobie Brothers son), legendary reggae artists Ras Shilo, and SF’s infamous electronic house music band Soulstice, among more.
Scott was the original Founder of Second Sunday Summertime monthly event (Cafe Cocomo/Mission Rock 1999-2001), Hiatus Productions SF (Ten15/VSF/Cafe Cocomo 1997-1999), SFbyDEF (Winter Music Conference Albion Hotel, Sony Rooftop, Raleigh Hotel), Co-Founder of Revolutionary Girl with Stephanie Tucker (SFNLC), and Miambient (The Standard Hotel at Winter Music Conference), all based out of San Francisco.
Mr. Manning has produced hundreds of events with legendary DJ’s such as Mark Farina, Marques Wyatt, Miguel Migs, Danny Howells, Jay J, Johnny Fiasco, Bassnectar, and the “Originator of House Music ” Jesse Saunders (to name a few). Producing/Djing fundraising/conscious events in Israel, Thailand, Honduras, New York City, Miami, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Hawaii, Mr. Manning has also co-produced/performed at events with Earthdance International (501c3) founder Chris Deckker (Medicine Drum), Anon Salon(Sea of Dreams NYE & Burning Man’s Decompression) founder Joegh Bullock, NextAid (501c3) founder Lauren Segal, and Trevor Hewett of Mixed Elements (Ruby Skye/San Francisco’s #1 nightclub), and more.
Scott went down in history for being the first promoter in Israel to bring together Arabs, Jews, and Christians in the Dance Music Community (Tel Aviv ’03/Featuring the Middle East’s first female hip-hop artists Arapiat, and the first Palestinian hip-hop artists M.W.R., as well as Israel’s top dance club dj’s/producers Zahar Zangilovich, Shlomi Zidan, and Guy Gerber).
Currently, Scott Manning has been focusing on what he calls “Community Sustainability Agriculture” which is a hybrid version of your typical Organic/Sustainable/Local Produce CSA, but designed to act as a fundraiser for public school garden projects. Co-founder of CSA California, CSA Mountain View / Los Altos aka “Farmer Pete’s CSA,” and CSA Carbondale Colorado. Scott Manning has helped raise tens of thousands of dollars benefiting over 30 school gardens on the West Coast and counting.
Mr. Manning’s newest venture along with co-founder of CSA California Sara Paul, CSA Hawaii (starting with the islands of Maui and Kauai) is gearing up to take the CSA / School Garden Fundraiser movement to the next level, helping public schools and Sustainable Growers in the state of Hawaii in 2011.
