Digital River Extends Agreement With Nuance Communications

Digital River, Inc., provider of global e-commerce solutions, has extended its global e-commerce agreement with Nuance Communications, Inc., provider of voice and language solutions for businesses and consumers around the world, for another five years.

On the agreement, Digital River will continue operating 16 locales for the Nuance Store that offers you and businesses localized versions of Dragon Dictate, Dragon Naturally Speaking, OmniPage, PaperPort and PDF Converter software applications. Digital River will also provide professionally-managed e-marketing programs through its marketForce interactive marketing agency.

The Nuance Store has presence in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK and US, among other countries.

“We are deeply committed to partnering with our clients and are constantly introducing new ways to help them expand their businesses and strengthen their end customer relationships on a global basis,” says Tom Donnelly, Digital River‘s president and COO. “Our decade-long relationship with Nuance is a testament to this commitment.”

Nuance’s e-commerce operation stretches across multiple business models. These models encompass direct-to-consumer online sales, software trials, subscriptions, training and education stores, and business-to-business (B2B) channel stores. It is supported by their Digital River Global Commerce solution that includes Digital River World Payments capabilities.

Nuance is growing global sales across its online channels by setting marketing strategies with Digital River’s marketForce agency. The agency professionally manages a robust mix of search-engine, email, affiliate, display advertising and site optimization marketing programs for Nuance on a global basis.

“With Digital River’s pay-for-performance agency model, we were able to start small and over time expand our managed marketing programs as the agency proved its results and generated sales in global markets for us,” says Ed McGuiggan, vice president for Nuance. “It is this type of partnership that has allowed us to focus on creating leading software solutions while growing our global sales.”

“Digital River’s e-marketing best practices and global e-commerce expertise is a key reason we plan to continue to work with the company in the future,” adds McGuiggan.

Nuance is a provider of voice and language solutions for businesses and consumers around the world. Its technologies, applications and services make your experience more compelling by transforming the way you interact with information and how they create, share and use documents.

Digital River, Inc., founded in 1994 and headquartered in Minneapolis, builds and manages online businesses for software and game publishers, consumer electronics manufacturers, distributors, online retailers and affiliates.
