Crucial Purchases AVS Networks

Web hosting provider Crucial has purchased AVS Networks, a domain hosting and registration firm. On the company’s website, AVS founder Nigel Burke wrote that all customers of AVS Networks will be moved to Crucial’s infrastructure in February. He further added that the company will send emails to its customers about the changes being made in their services.

No information about the financial terms of the deal have been disclosed yet.

The acquisition will bring more resources to the customers. In addition, AVS Networks consumers can expect to get distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection by Crucial and 24/7 technical support.

Ijan Kruizinga, CEO of Crucial, revealed that they have created a detailed migration plan that will allow the transfer of services to Crucial without disrupting customers.

Crucial expects the acquisition will help make the company’s position in the small business hosting sector even stronger.

Burke is set to join the Crucial team. For two decades, the AVS Networks founder concentrated on developing AVS. He has worked towards helping a number of businesses in Australia gain a foothold online and establish a relationship with thousands of customers.

According to a Crucial spokesperson, the company is not ready to reveal the number of customers joined through the AVS acquisition, ComputerWorld Australia reported.

Sydney-based hosting outfit Crucial was established in 2003 with the aim of helping small businesses succeed online. Its secure network deals with 8.8 terabytes of data on a daily basis.

According to its website, Crucial has many awards under its belt, including BRW Fast100, CRN Fast 50 and Anthill Smart 50. The company boasts of more than 7,000 virtual servers and more than 5,500 customers.
