Vista del Lago High School Presents ‘Every 15 Minutes’, DUI Crash Simulation

The Every 15 Minutes Program promotes awareness to the dangers of drinking and driving, for high school juniors and seniors. Vista del Lago High School is to premiere its first “Every 15 Minutes” to its junior class, this Wednesday. The program combines the efforts of several local and state agencies.

The presentation at the school simulates a two car drunk driving collision and the emergency response of medical and law enforcement personnel from Folsom Fire, Folsom Police and the CHP Helicopter.

The ultimate goal is to educate the youth in our community about the possible consequences that come with the decision to drink and drive.

The event begins at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15th 2009, at Vista del Lago High School – 1970 Broadstone Parkway, Folsom

A select group of juniors will re-enact a simulated double fatal, two car collision, before their entire junior class.

Folsom Police, Folsom Fire, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Officer and the CHP Helicopter will assist, showcasing their emergency response to the mock collision. The entire re-enactment will be narrated by Folsom Fire.

The Office of Traffic Safety and the California Highway Patrol provided grant funding that helped make this event possible.
