Android 5.1 Lollipop Update for Google Nexus 4 May Start Rolling Out Soon

According to Android Geeks, Android 5.1 Lollipop Update for Google Nexus 4 may begin rolling out soon. Google Nexus 5, Google Nexus 7, Google Nexus 10 and other supported devices will also receive the Lollipop update.

The Android 5.1 update aims to fix some issues and enhance the overall performance of the system. If the reports are anything to go by, the Android 5.1 Lollipop will not deliver any new features. The Google Play Edition devices will also get the new update.

In November 2014, Mountain View-based Google released the Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. Android smartphone and tablet users were happy to see the new features and enhancements brought by the update. Unfortunately, the update also brought a set of Android problems to Nexus owners.

To solve Android 5.0 Lollipop problems, the tech giant released Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. However, Android 5.0 Lollipop problems continued to frustrate users of several Android devices. Many Android owners are waiting for a bigger Android Lollipop bug fix update.

Android Lollipop 5.1 update is coming

And now there are Android 5.1 sightings and rumors. Also, when Google introduced the budget-friendly Android One Program in Indonesia and Philippines, Android 5.1 was mentioned a number of times.

Mo Versi, HTC VP of Product Management, revealed on Twitter that the new software update will be released in March. However, Google has not publicly acknowledged the Android 5.1 update. The company will push out the update for Google Nexus 4 and other Google Nexus devices in stages. Not all users will receive the update at the same time. Some users may have to wait a little longer before the OTA hits their devices.

It is believed that the Android 5.1 update will provide useful changes such as improved system stability, improved RAM management, notification and “Ok Google” bug fixes, silent mode and improved battery life. In addition, the Android 5.1 is expected to fix issues with excessive use of network devices as well as wireless connections. Some sound problems experience by certain devices should be solved too.
