Samsung has partnered with Google and they have released the Samsung Chromebook for $249.99 If you are a gamer, this laptop is not for you. But don’t dismiss this laptop yet!
Using Google Docs you can create, edit, and share Office Documents. You can access your files on any PC, MAC, or Smartphone using Google Drive. The Chrome Laptop has a webcam so you can chat with friends and family using Google Hangout. The Chrome store has plenty of apps and games you can install and access. All of your files, music, documents, photos, ect.. are backed up on Google Drive. Worried about viruses? The Chrome OS can not get viruses.
I was actually a tester for the 1st generation of the Google Chrome laptop and I have to say I loved it. It was very light. I loved the feel of the keyboard. It booted up just like that. It never crashed.
In my opinion, this laptop is a really good laptop for writers. Its light, everything is backed up on the cloud, so if you get inspired, pull it out and write away! Its also perfect for older folks that just want to access the internet and email. Its very simple to use, great battery life, and very affordable. If you have a parent or grandparent that wants to learn “tweet” or “poke” online, I would recommend this laptop. If you get them a Windows laptop, then there is a good chance that it will get infected with malware from accidentaly clicking a link off of Facebook and then become a brick until they get it fixed or start running very slow. Its also a perfect laptop for a child. They can’t get tons of spyware on it, and it will play flash based games that are on kids websites such as igirlgames.com, y8.com, and poptropica.com.
