Fraiche Restaurant Offers Exquisite Cuisine With Italian Flair

Fraiche – The French Italian Experience

After a day of filming, our guest Vinny Vella who was in Los Angeles filming “Saving Little Italy,” asked us to find a unique dining experience with that Italian flair. We did just that, and chose Fraiche Restaurant in Culver City. Fraiche is owned and operated by Vito Tabbatlbai.

Mr. Tabbatlbai greeted us in style and brought our entourage through the back door of his eatery. We were then introduced to the executive chef, Junior Perez, who in my humble opinion is one great chef, especially with the deserts he’s created. Vanilla Pamia Cotta, which is made with mango, passion fruit and pop rocks is something I hadn’t experience before. Another desert was the Caramel Rudio, consisting of vanilla magapone and sea salt.

My favorite however was the Mascarpone Cheesecake, made with cranberry sorbet, strawberry and exotic coulis. Fraiche gives you that French Italian experience in a modern contemporary setting. It’s one of the favorite spots for locals and tourists, especially with their happy hour. Drinks are only $5.00 and the appetizers are $4.00 to $8.00.

Referring back to Vinny Vella, Rich Rossi, Tony Damiko and guest, they had a great time on their culinary journey. All the goodies such as oysters, scallops, and array of breads were at our fingertips.

Ah, but the conversation with Vito Tabbatlbai, made the evening so delightful. In fact, I have not received such red carpet treatment in my many years of dining. But enough, let’s take a journey on some culinary delights. Rich Rossi, the creator of the film “Saving Little Italy” is a true Italian and can enjoy lots of good food.

Rich ordered the Pork Chops with sweet potato, apple purrie, black kale mixed with mushrooms, and a port wine sauce. Vinny Vella ordered homemade Agnolotti, made with wild mushroom, mascarpone, and truffle butter.

yummy food.
yummy

Tony Dameko on the other hand, decided on a good dish of Spaghetti. “It’s almost like Mom’s cooking” Tony said. Since I love fish, I ordered Salmon Tartar with basil acali and avocado. There’s nothing like a fresh piece of salmon. I just love my fish with a good glass of wine.

Speaking of wines, Fraiche has an excellent collection in their wine racks. In ending our journey, for those of you who are vegetarians, Fraiche has some wonderful salads and fresh steamed vegetables. There’s something for everyone, to enjoy a wonderful dining experience, in a contemporary atmosphere.
