Sangria, Empanadas… and a Curse? One of New York’s Hottest Summer Festivals Has It All

Summer in New York is made for unforgettable experiences, and few promise to deliver quite like the Sangria & Empanada Latin Experience at historic Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville on Saturday, July 25. Recently voted among America’s Best Food Festivals, this event blends incredible food, handcrafted sangria, live entertainment, local businesses, and family-friendly fun into one spectacular afternoon.

Summer Festival

Hosted by Famous Food Events, the festival transforms the grounds of America’s oldest winery into a vibrant celebration of Latin culture. Guests can sample authentic empanadas prepared by talented vendors, sip refreshing sangria, shop unique artisan booths, and soak in an atmosphere filled with music, laughter, and the unmistakable energy of summer.

Behind the scenes, the event is supported by an impressive lineup of sponsors helping make the day possible, including Brotherhood WineryMister SolarGuy powered by PlugPVFresca Hard SeltzerReal American BeeriHeartMedia, and Famous Food Events. Their partnership has helped create one of the Hudson Valley’s premier food and beverage experiences.

Among the dozens of vendors will be a booth offering something completely different from wine and cuisine—a journey into the supernatural.

Capital Region horror author Russell W. Dickson will appear throughout the festival, meeting readers and signing copies of his newest novel, The Leather Man’s Curse, the latest installment in his acclaimed Leather Man series.

Dickson’s novels have earned attention for blending real New York history, regional folklore, and supernatural horror into page-turning stories set throughout the Capital Region and Mohawk Valley. His newest release reimagines the chilling legend of the mysterious Leatherman, transforming one of New York’s oldest legends into a terrifying tale of ancient evil and cursed history.

The appearance comes at an exciting time in Dickson’s career following his recent signing of an exclusive three-year publishing agreement with boutique horror publisher HallöwHartt Publishing. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to meet the author, hear about the inspiration behind the series, ask questions, and have copies personally signed.

Whether you’re a lifelong horror fan or simply looking for your next great summer read, it’s a rare chance to meet a local author whose stories are deeply rooted in the places many New Yorkers call home.

The Sangria & Empanada Latin Experience
