Divorce Finalized Between Mel Gibson and His Wife

After 30 years of marriage, the divorce of Mel Gibson and Robyn Moore was finalized by a Superior Court Judge on Friday.

Gibson and Robyn got married in 1980 and have seven children together – including their 12-year-old son Tommy, the only one involved in a custody arrangement between them. They separated in 2006, and Robyn filed for divorce in 2009.

During their marriage, Gibson was in his prime professionally with the Mad Max and Lethal Weapon films. He was People‘s first “Sexiest Man Alive” in 1985, became an Oscar-winning director with 1995’s Braveheart and created a spiritual revival with 2004’s The Passion of the Christ, which grossed $600 million dollars worldwide.

However, the line between fact and fiction may have been blurred for Gibson in recent years, which includes his 2006 DUI arrest and his alleged anti-Semitic remarks, and last summer’s domestic violence accusations from girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, the mother of his two-year-old daughter Lucia. Robyn defended Gibson, who pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery count back in March.

Gibson’s last two films, Edge of Darkness and The Beaver, didn’t fare well at the box office.

Still, The Los Angeles Business Journal has reported that Gibson’s fortune could be an estimated $850 million dollars, as Entertainment Tonight (ET) stated that Robyn is entitled to half of everything since there was no prenuptial agreement between the two of them.
