Gladys Knight Illuminates ‘The Tropicana’ With Classic Entertainment

Gladys Knight, known as “The Empress of Soul”, who opened her new theater in April at The Tropicana has raised the level of classic entertainment, illuminating The Tropicana like no other performer has, in its history.

Knight’s show entitled “A Mic and a Light”, received many standing ovations during her show, with her elegant and intimate style of performing the songs, “I Heard It Through The Grapevine’,” If I Were Your Woman”, “Friendship Train” and that all time favorite, “Midnight Train To Georgia.”

The Seven Time Grammy Award winning performer, has a relationship with her audience that’s special, in that she shares her thoughts and sings her songs to uplift everyone attending the show. But that’s not all, Gladys has her brother Merald “Bubba” Knight, one of the original Pips adding his share of comedy in the show, as well as some upbeat Marvin Gaye tunes.

Always giving her all, Gladys Knight’s new album will be out this summer. She has teamed up with Randy Jackson who produced her 2010 single,” Settle.”. With all the awards and accolades, especially the induction into The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 for Gladys and The Pips, her constant passion in providing music to the public and to the Christian community is foremost in her life, with her family being number one.
