13th Annual Rose Breast Cancer Society to Raise Consciousness

With the onset of spring comes blue skies, birds, flowers and beautiful landscapes which makes it time for The 13th Annual Rose Variety Arts Show. The scenic setting of the 13th Annual Rose Variety Arts Show will be the newly remodeled Sportsman’s Lodge in Studio City. Valuable information by health care experts combined with entertainment makes EDU-tainment the order of the day.

Bee Beyer, a featured keynote speaker will share her spiritual journey and victory over cancer through nutrition. After graduating from Kansas State Teacher’s College she began teaching nutrition classes to high school students. She is also the creator of the Food Hydrator and authored “Food Drying at Home the Natural Way.” In addition, Bee Beyer is a television producer and host of “Cooking Around the World”, the “Bee Beyer Show” and the “Here & Now” series.

The Art & Wellness Expo begins at 10:00 a.m. on May 22nd in an intimate setting in the garden surrounded by a lake and waterfall with roses, landscapes, and animals as the art theme. By noon, the guest of honor will arrive in a horse drawn Cinderella style carriage fit for a queen. The carriage will be adorned with pink roses and led by Ms. Daisy, the beautiful white horse known for her participation in the Annual Rose Parade.

The red carpet will await a Silent Auction and at 1:00 p.m. there will be a buffet luncheon followed by the “Together Forever Show” musical tribute to Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme starring Kevin Sasaki and Rebecca Holden. Ms. Holden co-starred with David Haselhoff from TV’s Knight Rider and Bay Watch T.V. series. Dr. Cherilyn Lee of Nutri-med Integrated Health Care, Honorary Advisory board member of The Rose Breast Cancer Society, National Association of Professional Women, Woman of the Year 2010-2011 will speak about “Breast Cancer Prevention via CRT 2000 Thermography”.

Dr. Burt Danet, a cancer survivor will speak about the benefits of Plasma water. Also performing is EMOREJ, and Carmelita Pittman, Founder and Executive Director of The Rose Breast Cancer Society. She is also a skilled performing artist and will be displaying her oil portrait of her mother, Juanita Zara Espinosa Uddin. It is in her memory that this 501.c3 non-profit organization was founded. The painting has rose petals from her mother’s garden embedded in it because roses were her favorite flower. Carmelita will also sing “La Vie en Rose”.

Honorees include Angel of the Year, Randal Malone, President of the Southern California Motion Picture Council, Mother of the Year Madame M.C. Townsend President of the Regional Black Chamber of Commerce, and Carol Connor, two time Oscar nominated songwriter, who will sing her original composition.

Expected to be in attendance is Stella Stevens, Francine York, Dr. Sheila of Spotlight America Productions, former Angel of the Year, Jarvee Hutcherson, of the Multicultural Motion Picture Association, Mrs. Stanley Kramer and daughter Kat Kramer, Lady Java, Lady Koenigsberg, Linda Hopkins, Congresswoman Diane Watson, Katherine Hopkins Nicholas, Tom Hallick, Damian Chapa of Amadeus Productions, Kate Linder of the “Young and Restless”, Jackie Goldberg a.k.a. “The Pink Lady” and other luminaries.

The Art & Wellness Expo will begin at 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and admission is free.

The Rose Variety Stage Show begins at noon and includes a Silent Auction. Buffet luncheon will be served at 1:00 p.m. followed by the program and concludes at 3:30 p.m. In order to attend send a $70 donation per individual or $100 per individual as a Gold Patron for a Gold table of 10 by May 14, payable to The Rose Breast Cancer Society, 264 South La Cienega Blvd. Suite 1136, Beverly Hills, CA 90211-3302.
