Tips to Improve Your UX

We all want our users to have a positive experience when they use our products-which is why we study the user experience. It’s no secret that 1/3 of people will abandon a purchase if they can’t find the right information.

So, it makes sense to adopt some habits that help to create an excellent user experience, so you don’t lose money.

Here are a few tips to improve your UX.

Consider Clicks

Clicks is a debated UX topic. Some believe that clicks don’t matter while others do not. But the fact is, if it’s important to some people, you at least need to consider it. You don’t need to have it top your list of priorities, but you can’t overlook it if it matters to some.

A lot of people like efficiency. And, reduced clicks to some means users are less lily to get lost in the process.

On the other hand, some people feel that trying to reduce clicks forces designers to add more to one screen which creates clutter.

The bottom line is you should at least consider clicks and not overlook them in your UX.

Reassure Users

Not everyone is comfortable doing things online. And it’s important to consider this demographic. For this reason, it’s also important that you reassure your users that the successfully completed a task-especially when the stakes are high.

This includes scenarios like transferring money, completing transactions, or the last step in the form.

Value the Visual

There are several reasons that visual experience matters. These include:

  • It helps to create ease of use
  • Fosters brand recognition
  • Keeps consistency
  • Helps create a strong first impression

First impressions count. And, if users find your design to aesthetically pleasing, it will make a huge difference. It’s ok to put visual design off to the end in your development process, but you need to make sure that you don’t dismiss its importance.

It may seem insignificant at first but creating a user experience that is crucial to ease of use. Colors, organization, font size, and small graphical details create a unified experience for the users.

Simplicity

You can have fantastic design, but if your users can’t use your product, it’s useless. There is a fine line between complexity and functionality. You need to find a way to offer all that you can provide without confusing your users. If they got lost in the navigation path, your clients are likely to push your product aside for something simpler.

A great way to showcase this simplicity is to create a brand video.

Clean Up Clutter

Lack of whitespace, wordiness, unnecessary animation or too many elements can confuse users. You need to present your information understandably. You need to balance content with the design. Otherwise, you create clutter, and clutter makes things confusing and overwhelming.

Conclusion

Ease of use is a top priority for users. The simpler your products are to use, the more likely your user base will grow. By following these simple tips, you are sure to improve your user design habits.
