Bluegrass Jam in Historic Folsom, Thursday, June 5

The California Bluegrass Association’s Sacramento Area group had a great jam, combined with a potluck-of-the-month in the Interpretive Area of Historic Folsom, April 26. There were over 40 pickers and a good number of visitors.

Everyone, pickers and grinners alike, had a lot of fun. The setting was perfect; they jammed amongst historic buildings, rail cars, and antique equipment, and there were multiple jams at various levels going on at any one time.

It was such a great event, the group has been invited back to jam at the Interpretive Area on June 5.

The Folsom Historic District Association sponsors a Thursday night market all summer long starting June 5, running from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm every Thursday evening. Rather than set up another potluck, pickers and grinners can visit the food vendors at the market plus the great restaurants on Sutter Street.

If it works out, the Association is invited to jam there every Thursday (after Grass Valley, of course). The Interpretive Area is located at the corner of Leidesdorff and Wool Streets in Historic Folsom. You’ll see a bunch of historic buildings and rail cars there.

To be guaranteed a chair, you should bring your own. Music can start as early as 500 pm. Ample free parking is available in the new parking structure, that holds over 300 vehicles.

Come on down and have a great time.
