Tottenham and Blackburn scrap in an early Premiership kickoff.
These two sides fought a back-and-forth scrappy battle for forty-five minutes before Defoe nipped in at the back post to tap in following a corner, giving Spurs a lead before Half time. Goalkeeper Paul Robinson had previously gone off injured for Blackburn but his replacement, Brown, had been performing well in goal; despite the mocking jeers from the Tottenham faithful.
In the second half Spurs expanded on that lead when a shot from Pavlyuchenko ducked under the ‘keepers body and bounced into the net. Even at 2-0 Spurs weren’t settled though and for half an hour they kept out Blackburn who were looking for an opening goal to make Tottenham twitchy. That goal came with just ten minutes left when Samba headed in from a corner and not for the first time this season, Tottenham had seen an easy 2-0 shortened and were set for a struggle in the final ten minutes.
They weren’t twitchy for long though and with just five minutes to play Bale smashed a first-time ball across goal and Pavlyuchenko grabbed a simple second. A 3-1 lead for Spurs and this time they did see it out to win by two. A score for my weekend tips (-1 Handicap prediction) and odds of 9/1 on offer for anyone backing the scoreline.
