Jordan Sato-Sterni, 16 Year Old Northern California Golf Sensation

Jordan Sato-Sterni has been playing golf since the age of three. Now at 16, making his mark throughout the years, he participates in junior tours.

Jordan has had numerous 1st place finishes, recently hitting his lowest-ever tournament score with an overall win, carding a five under round of 67.

In that tournament, the Tony Horton Invitational at Manteca Park Golf Course, weather conditions were far from ideal for golf, which increased pressure on all players, but brought out the best in Jordan.

Helping alleviate some of the pressure during the invitational, was the comic relief, of drivers being flung into fairways from slippery hands, and ultimately some impressive scores.

“In this kind of weather your scores tend to be much higher,” East Union coach Dennis Wells said. “Your grip is slipping, you’re cold, you’re wet and the greens are puddling up.”

Sato-Sterni, a student at Lincoln High in Stockton, didn’t get the high-score memo. His eye-popping five-under round of 67 was good for individual medalist honors.

At the end of March, Jordan also won a Junior Golf Association of Northern California tournament, shooting a 75-72.
